The SALS website has just been completely re-built using the WordPress as a content management system (CMS) to simplify posting and maintaining content.
The updated website is ‘responsive’ so that it adapts for easy viewing on mobile devices. The site now supports a blog, readers comments, related posts, a news feed, an RSS feed and various other features facilitated by the WordPress CMS.
In particular, SALS staff and/or volunteers will be able to easily post newslinks and other new content to the website, where the content is automatically indexed (based on category and tags), ‘presented’ on appropriate pages, and permanently archived without having to manually edit umpteen pages or to go back later and take old links down and/or archive old content (the old static-html was a pain to update/maintain, so not much was posted over the years).
The new database-driven website also makes it easy to upload and post images and galleries, as well as to embed audio, video, tweets, etc.
